My short stories, essays, and reviews have appeared in n+1, the New Yorker, the New York Times Book Review, Bookforum, frieze, the Guardian, 4Columns, and Art in America, among other outlets. My fiction has been collected in the Pushcart Prize anthology (2019) and my nonfiction in Best American Essays (2017). I am the recipient of a 2019–20 grant for creative writing from Canada Council for the Arts.
For several years, I was an editor of Triple Canopy, where I helped create projects such as Speculations (“The future is ______”) as part of EXPO 1 (2013) at MoMA PS1, New York. As a freelance editor, I have worked on several books for the Museum of Modern Art, New York, including Judson Dance Theater: The Work Is Never Done (2019), Adrian Piper: A Reader (2018), Arbus, Friedlander, Winogrand: New Documents 1967 (2017), and Ralph Lemon (Modern Dance Series, 2016). In 2020, I am acting deputy editor of n+1.
I was born in Waterloo, Ontario, went to university in Montreal, and live in New York.
